About the Role

The Credit and Collections Manager is responsible for the effective management of the Accounts Receivable processes and teams. This includes setting and monitoring credit limits for wholesale customers and managing the collections process for delinquent accounts.

Key Interactions

Interacts directly with vendors, financial institutions, internal and external customers at various levels, peers, management, and executives.

Daily Responsibilities
  1. Lead the Credit and Collections Department, comprising a credit management team and a delinquent accounts collection team within a Shared Service Center, serving over 200 retail locations and Corporate Headquarters.
  2. Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing Accounts Receivable team.
  3. Guide the credit management team to establish and monitor credit lines for wholesale and retail customers to support retail operations while managing risk.
  4. Manage the collections team to identify and pursue aged receivables.
  5. Ensure bad debt reserves for all aged receivables comply with AutoNation policies.
  6. Foster a customer service-oriented culture in all interactions with stores and vendors.
  7. Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  8. Meet service level agreements consistently across the department.
  9. Oversee the implementation of new processing and control technologies, and identify opportunities for continual improvement.
Job Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Knowledge of D&B reporting.
  4. Experience in a multi-unit business environment, preferably in retail.
  5. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications in credit or collections.
  6. Experience in a shared service environment is preferred but not required.
