CureSearch for Children's Cancer is seeking a Development Manager for Community Peer-to-Peer Fundraising. Every day, 42 families hear the words no parent should ever hear: “Your child has cancer.” At CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, we’re working relentlessly to change that. Our mission is to drive bold, innovative research that brings safer, more effective treatments to children with cancer—faster. To help us move this mission forward, we’re looking for dynamic fundraisers who are passionate about grassroots peer-to-peer fundraising and community engagement.
As the Manager of Community Peer-to-Peer Fundraising, you’ll lead the charge in recruiting and supporting volunteer fundraisers for CureSearch’s signature events, including Ultimate Hike, CureSearch Walks, and DIY fundraising initiatives. You’ll build lasting relationships, coach fundraisers, and create impactful experiences that inspire communities to give.
This is a full-time, fully remote, exempt position reporting to the Director of Community Engagement. Candidates based in the Mid-Atlantic region (DC, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA) are strongly preferred.
- Lead regional fundraising efforts to raise $350,000–$400,000 annually through CureSearch events and campaigns.
- Recruit, coach, and support individual and team fundraisers with personalized strategies to keep them engaged and motivated.
- Analyze participation and revenue trends to drive strategic planning, improve retention, and grow revenue.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver inspiring experiences and mission moments at all events.
- Provide hands-on, onsite support to ensure smooth execution and exceptional participant satisfaction.
Volunteer Leadership & Community Engagement- Identify and support high-impact volunteer leaders to serve as community champions.
- Facilitate regular volunteer leadership meetings and support action plans for local outreach and growth.
- Work closely with regional boards and committees to expand CureSearch’s presence and impact.
- Represent CureSearch at community events to build awareness and spark fundraising opportunities.
Corporate & Community Partnerships- Leverage events and community networks to secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and corporate engagement.
- Build and nurture local partnerships that amplify CureSearch’s reach and drive participation.
What We’re Looking For- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (5+ years) in peer-to-peer fundraising, volunteer management, or community engagement.
- Minimum 3 years of proven success in planning and growing peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
- Strong relationship-building, coaching, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficient with CRMs and fundraising tools (e.g., Blackbaud, Classy).
- Willingness to work some evenings/weekends and travel 15–20% of the time.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs for event setup.
- A genuine passion for CureSearch’s mission and the ability to connect meaningfully with supporters.
