Base pay range

$15,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

SNAPSHOT:

• Reports to: Director, IT Engineering
• Team Size: 4 SREs; goal will be for this person to double the size of the team within the next 365 days.
• MUST have experience managing for a few years and have come from a Solutions Engineering style background.
• MUST have extensive background with Azure Cloud; multi-cloud is a plus.
• Experience with Open Telemetry monitoring tools and Application Performance tools

OVERVIEW:
The Sr Manager of Cloud Operations will lead and optimize the organization's cloud infrastructure. This position will bridge the gap between IT Engineering and IT Operations, focusing on cloud governance, FinOps and security compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Manage cloud governance and strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud governance framework in partnership with engineering and key stakeholders. Establish policies and best practices for cloud resource utilization, access control, and lifecycle management.

Maintain cloud security and compliance: Ensure cloud environments meet security standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act by working with Information Security and compliance experts.

Ensure operational excellence: Oversee the performance, availability, and reliability of cloud services. Conduct regular audits and assessments of cloud infrastructure

Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud expenditures to ensure cost-effective use of resources, in collaboration with engineering and finance teams.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers and negotiate contracts in consultation with technical and procurement teams.

Lead with Care: Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of wellness, recognition, and engagement.

Lead Risk Management and Incident Response: Develop and maintain cloud-specific disaster recovery and business continuity plans, in partnership with IT and business continuity teams.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in Cloud Operations Management or a similar role.
• Experience in cloud cost management, governance, and compliance
• Microsoft Azure platform and services required
• Open Telemetry & Application Performance tool experience
