Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation seeks a Charitable Partner to manage and nurture leads for donor-advised funds. You will conduct consultative meetings, explain how DAFs work, and help prospects align charitable goals with available vehicles.

You will report to DAFgiving360 while working within Schwab’s HR policies. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience, strong relationship and presentation skills, and proficiency with Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience; college degree highly preferred.
  • Outstanding persuasive skills, relationship management, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce as a mechanism for identifying, qualifying, and recording new sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrated passion for philanthropy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by absorbing and applying complex information quickly.
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to organize, manage and juggle competing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and nurture leads from prospective clients interested in donor-advised funds.

DAFgiving360™ is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to increasing charitable giving in the United States. Since 1999, donors have recommended over $55 billion in grants to more than 300,000 charities. Through donor-advised funds and philanthropic tools, we help individuals and families integrate charitable planning into their financial lives and make a meaningful difference.

DAFgiving360 has entered into a services agreement with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. for administrative and other services, including human resources. This position will be an employee of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and will be subject to its policies and procedures but will report to and be accountable to DAFgiving360 for day-to-day activities.

Our opportunity:

The Charitable Partner is responsible for managing and nurturing leads from prospective clients who are interested in donor-advised funds. Charitable Partners will provide exceptional service by promptly responding to inquiries generated through the DAFgiving360 website, referrals from Financial Consultants, and other lead channels. In this role, Charitable Partners will arrange and conduct consultative meetings that help prospects understand the features, benefits, and potential charitable planning applications of a donor-advised fund. As part of these consultations, Charitable Partners should also understand other charitable vehicles and be able to discuss how they may complement or compare with a donor-advised fund based on a prospect’s philanthropic goals.

In addition, the Charitable Partner will also be required to communicate effectively and efficiently to multiple levels of the organization, including Marketing, Donor Services, Charitable Consulting and Charitable Strategies Group. Qualified candidates will accurately enter the necessary reporting to track activities, measure outcomes, and evidence their success on a regular basis.

What you are good at

  • Engage in robust consultative conversations to understand clients' charitable goals with an ability to close new business or seamlessly refer opportunities to business partners as needed.
  • Act as an Ambassador for DAFgiving360, effectively communicating the value proposition of our solution to prospective donors, financial consultants, and other business partners across Schwab.
  • Possess a confident consultative conversation style that builds trust, makes an impact, and influences outcomes through one-on-one interactions with prospective donors, financial consultants, and business partners across various mediums and platforms.
  • Utilize Salesforce to create and qualify leads, track sales activity, refer opportunities to other departments when appropriate, and consistently uphold service levels with client communication.
  • Leverage sales and marketing tools to qualify leads and prioritize outreach efforts to prospects with the highest probability to convert to account holders.
  • Proactively engage with prospect donors through various channels including, but not limited to inbound/outbound calls, digital channels, and referrals from Schwab partners.
  • Demonstrate an ability to perform day-to-day work at a high level with little instruction and carry out new assignments with general direction. Work with team members and other business groups to establish priorities, set goals, and track outcomes.
  • Apply specialized knowledge, skills, and experiences within area of expertise, as well as broader understanding of company impact to resolve a wide range of client needs.
  • Network with senior personnel internally and externally across departments to resolve issues, gain needed information and influence outcomes.
What you have

  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours during year-end peak season (mid-November to February).
  • Strong desire to continue learning about the landscape of Philanthropy through continued exposure to educational opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • CAP®, or the successful completion of this accreditation within the first year in this role is strongly desired.
