Job description

Processing Systems Team - Job Description

The Processing Systems team plays a vital role in accelerating payment acceptance at Nuvei and its clients. The team ensures timely certification of devices and interfaces, broadening Nuvei’s solution offerings to enable acquirers, processors, and merchants to adopt the latest technologies. Certifications include compliance with transaction processing specifications, EMV/Chip device standards across various card brands, and host/gateway requirements.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage POS terminal certification processes from intake to Level 3 certification and handover for production pilots.
  2. Provide technical certification and development support to POS product providers and payment gateways.
  3. Coordinate work streams, schedules, and priorities based on stakeholder input.
  4. Maintain testing tools and systems for efficient certification execution.
  5. Facilitate onboarding of new solutions for certification according to host and EMV/Chip scheme requirements.
  6. Review documentation such as LOAs to ensure validity and compliance.
  7. Collaborate with development teams on host specifications and EMV processing.
  8. Guide team members through test case execution for card scheme submissions and approvals.
  9. Align certification roadmap with business needs and timelines.
  10. Train colleagues to ensure high proficiency levels.
  11. Maintain tools, licenses, and updates supporting certification activities.
  12. Review card scheme mandates to keep test plans and projects compliant.
  13. Schedule and oversee certification activities to meet objectives.
  14. Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  15. Draft and update standard operating procedures for testing processes.
  16. Troubleshoot and resolve complex processing or business issues.
  17. Escalate issues to the team for resolution.
  18. Participate in the requirements, design, and rollout of new products and services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of in-depth technical experience with EMV certifications.
  • Experience in payments systems and processing solutions, with knowledge of acquirer processing and networks.
  • Deep understanding of EMV tags and relevant elements; formal EMV training is a plus.
  • Experience with online payment or point-of-sale transaction technologies.
  • Knowledge of US and/or Canadian payment processing environments.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-driven, flexible, and self-motivated.
