Description

The Manager Carrier Relations is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with insurance carriers. This role will focus on enhancing carrier relationships, negotiating coverage and pricing, driving new product opportunities, and ensuring market access aligns with company growth objectives. You will collaborate closely with our producers, account management teams, and leadership to strategically position our brokerage in the marketplace.

Position Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with insurance carrier representatives across all lines of business.
  • Negotiate underwriting terms, pricing, and product offerings to maximize client value and agency profitability.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the brokerage and carrier partners for market intelligence, new products, underwriting appetite, and distribution strategies.
  • Analyze carrier performance metrics (production, loss ratios, profitability) and recommend adjustments to relationships or business plans.
  • Collaborate with producers and service teams to match client needs with appropriate carrier solutions.
  • Identify and secure access to new markets and specialty programs to support agency growth.
  • Coordinate carrier meetings, training sessions, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market shifts affecting carrier operations and underwriting appetite.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance brokerage marketing, underwriting, or carrier relationship management.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial, personal, and/or specialty insurance lines.
  • Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret carrier data and performance reports.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple carrier relationships simultaneously.
  • Insurance designations such as CIC, CPCU, or ARM are a plus.
