The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth by partnering with RRD Sales to identify new opportunities within existing customers, leveraging strategic partnerships, and leading initiatives to strengthen market presence. This role requires a deep understanding of business, financials, RRD products/services, and client challenges.

Responsibilities

  1. Act as the primary contact for all business development initiatives for the Asia packaging & label platform.
  2. Develop colleagues’ and customers’ understanding of services and solutions provided by the Asia packaging & label platforms.
  3. Collaborate with National Sales, Strategy, and Business Development to evaluate and pursue new opportunities.
  4. Follow up on Packaging & label opportunities in Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy and promoting its use as the single source of sales pipeline information.
  5. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
  6. Explore and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential clients, partnerships, and markets.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with sales representatives.
  8. Oversee proposal and presentation preparations for potential clients and partners, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  9. Coordinate with marketing, sales, and product teams to align on business goals and messaging.
  10. Work with senior management to prioritize business development initiatives.
  11. Lead problem-solving efforts, employing analytical skills to identify innovative sales solutions.
  12. Anticipate customer needs, feedback, and objections, and develop appropriate solutions.
  13. Utilize judgment, discretion, and creativity to influence customer decisions positively.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the packaging industry, preferably in folding cartons.
  • 10+ years of sales experience, including prospecting and maintaining accounts.
  • Experience working with global brands and marketplaces.
  • Knowledge of Asia (China & SEA) packaging, label, and supply chain markets.
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape and challenges in Asia.

Skills and Certifications

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence across departments and stakeholder levels.
  • Expertise in sales within a specialized product, service, or account type.
  • Proven experience in sales account management and growth.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • At least 3 years in business development, contracts, licensing, or marketing.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change.

RRD's salary range for this role is $98,100 to $156,000 annually, adjustable based on location and other factors. Compensation may include bonuses, commissions, or incentives. Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k), life insurance, parental leave, and more.
