Job Description:

Title: Manager, Business Development and Account Management - Powervar

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate for this Manager, Business Development and Account Management role should have a high sense of urgency to create the best possible customer experience for our customers. We’re seeking a qualified sales representative to help provide our customers with power quality and uninterrupted power supply solutions manufactured by the Powervar brand of Ametek. The sales representative will have a strong understanding of the sales process, excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong negotiating skills and the ability to showcase our value compellingly. Responsibilities include giving presentations, attending networking events, and trade shows. The candidate must be personable, professional, organized, and communicative, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage sales of products and services to large key accounts.
  2. Engage with both new and existing clients to discover, build value, and advance solutions that meet client and business objectives.
  3. Blueprint client account structures and maintain key relationships within departments (e.g., Executive, Sales, Marketing, Service) to ensure high client satisfaction.
  4. Maintain client database (via Salesforce), meet monthly objectives, and monitor sales updates, forecasting, and reports.
  5. Contribute to marketing strategy and tactical plans; provide sales data and analysis to management; support sales plans with assessments and training needs.
  6. Prepare and deliver presentations for large groups as needed.
  7. Coordinate engineering efforts for new systems involving Powervar products.
  8. Collaborate with management on future growth plans, including new applications, markets, and product development.
  9. Work with internal departments to ensure client satisfaction and process improvements.
  10. Attend trade shows to support sales and engineering teams.
  11. Travel approximately 50% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years of sales/client engagement experience
  • Experience in power and/or electrical industry
  • Salesforce proficiency

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree in a technical field
  • Experience with uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for rapport building
  • Organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word
  • Experience with Power BI and OneNote
  • Effective time management in a fast-paced environment
