Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering or equivalent work experience.
• BMET certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience supervising direct reports and leading teams in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and administer the Biomedical department.
• Provide clinical support and assist in repairs of biomedical equipment.
• Coordinate training, in-services and vendor services.
• Oversee purchasing, pre-purchase evaluations and service contracts.
• Monitor operating budgets and participate in hiring, training and performance evaluations.
• Participate in 24-hour on-call rotations.

Clinical Engineering Manager – Biomedical Technology

• The Clinical Engineering Manager assists with the supervision and administration of the Biomed department.
• This individual must possess a comprehensive knowledge of equipment maintenance practices, but also has a wide variety of professional level responsibilities.
• The manager assists in repairs to the Biomedical engineering equipment and provides clinical support on an as needed basis.
• The manger provides/attends training and in-services sessions and coordinates outside services.
• The Manager performs purchasing and requisitions activities as well as pre-purchase evaluations.
• The manager oversees institutional wide service contracts and prepares and monitors operating budgets.
• The manager participates in hiring, training, evaluation an termination of assigned staff and participates in the 24 hour on-call program.

This is a full time day position, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center

Preferred Criteria

• BMET Certified by the International Certification Commission (ICC)
• At least 5 years of management experience highly preferred
• Experience with supervising direct reports
• Strong Leadership skills
• Experience in Unionize environments
• Experience with JHACO, CMS, and DOH regulatory requirements

Salary Range: $136,500-$170,500/Annual
