Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering (or equivalent).
• BMET ICC certification preferred.
• At least 5 years of management experience in biomedical equipment management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision and administration of the Biomed department.
• Assist in repairs to Biomedical engineering equipment and provide clinical support as needed.
• Coordinate training, in-services, and external service providers.
• Handle purchasing, requisitions, and pre-purchase evaluations.
• Oversee service contracts and monitor operating budgets.
• Participate in hiring, training, evaluation, and on-call rotation.

Clinical Engineering Manager – Biomedical Technology

The Clinical Engineering Manager assists with the supervision and administration of the Biomed department. This individual must possess a comprehensive knowledge of equipment maintenance practices, but also has a wide variety of professional level responsibilities. The manager assists in repairs to the Biomedical engineering equipment and provides clinical support on an as needed basis. The manger provides/attends training and in-services sessions and coordinates outside services. The Manager performs purchasing and requisitions activities as well as pre-purchase evaluations. The manager oversees institutional wide service contracts and prepares and monitors operating budgets. The manager participates in hiring, training, evaluation an termination of assigned staff and participates in the 24 hour on-call program.

This is a full time day position, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center

Preferred Criteria

• BMET Certified by the International Certification Commission (ICC)
• At least 5 years of management experience highly preferred
• Experience with supervising direct reports
• Strong Leadership skills
• Experience in Unionize environments
• Experience with JHACO, CMS, and DOH regulatory requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication

$136,500-$170,500/Annual
