Job summary

The University of Denver's Student Disability Services seeks a Manager of Assistive Technology to oversee the Alternate Format Text (AFT) program, remediate readings, and teach students to use assistive technology tools. This role supervises student staff and collaborates with faculty to ensure accessible coursework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, information technology, assistive technology, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in related area preferred.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience; 2-4 years preferred.
  • Experience supervising, evaluating, and training staff.
  • Experience interpreting ADA/504 regulations.
  • Expertise in assistive software technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Alternate Format Text production program, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Hire, train, supervise Alternate Format Production Assistants.
  • Review disability documentation and determine appropriate AT accommodations.
  • Maintain SDS Testing Center accessibility and manage procurement/inventory of AT resources.
  • Provide AT training and support for students and faculty.
