Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required with 6 years of experience in developing, installing, and/or supporting instructional technologies.
• Substitutions allowed for education: when a candidate has required experience but lacks the education, additional relevant experience may count toward the education requirement at 2 years per year.
• Substitutions allowed for experience: when a candidate has the education but lacks experience, additional relevant education may count toward the experience requirement at 1 year per year.

Responsibilities

• Leads communications with faculty and campus partners about digital accessibility; advises faculty about accommodations.
• Uses AIM and third-party vendors to manage assistive technology, captioning, and other accommodation requests.
• Consults with faculty to remediate existing course content and provide accommodations for mobility, hearing, visual, and learning impairments.
• Maintains knowledge of best practices in instructional technology and trains staff and campus partners.
• Keeps the Director informed of progress toward digital accessibility compliance and reports issues campus-wide.
• Trains and leads graduate assistants, interns, and practicum students in remediating course materials.
• Maintains the Office of Accessibility website.

The Office of Accessibility is seeking a Digital Technology Coordinator to support technology-based accommodations for students and assist faculty and academic units in ensuring that course materials meet digital accessibility requirements through audits, remediation, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Leads the Office of Accessibility communication with faculty and campus partners about digital accessibility. Advises faculty about students with technology-based accommodation needs.
• Uses AIM and third-party vendors to manage assistive technology, captioning, and other technology-based accommodation requests for students registered with the Office of Accessibility.
• Consults with faculty to remediate existing course content, which may include providing accommodations for individuals with mobility, hearing, visual, and/or learning impairments.
• Maintains knowledge of best practices in instructional technology and provide training and information on instructional technology methods and trends for the Office of Accessibility staff and campus partners.
• Keeps the Office of Accessibility Director informed of progress toward digital accessibility compliance and report issues and concerns to ensure accessible course material campus wide.
• Trains and leads graduate assistants, interns, and/or practicum students in remediating course materials.
• Maintains the Office of Accessibility website.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree - Rehabilitation/Disability, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Related fields no specific discipline, and 6 years of experience in developing, installing, and/or supporting the use of instructional technologies.

SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR EDUCATION: Yes, When a candidate has the required experience, but lacks the required education, they may normally apply additional relevant experience toward the education requirement, at a rate of two (2) years relevant experience per year of required education.
