Job Summary
Responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing programs, procedures, techniques, and equipment to ensure the safety, security, profitability, and resiliency of customers, team members, locations, and assets. Manages assigned team members/contracted security professionals and establishes partnerships with leadership within the geographic territory.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of laws related to team members and non-employees.
- Identify and report potential and actual losses, develop risk minimization strategies, and ensure policy compliance.
- Maintain communication with management, stakeholders, and outside agencies to meet Asset Protection goals.
- Manage third-party security contracts, including training, scheduling, and policy adherence.
- Coordinate with Asset Protection department and other teams to reduce shrink and minimize risks.
- Review budgets and perform financial analysis to recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide guidance and oversight to team members, including training and performance management.
- Ensure store security objectives are met based on location needs.
- Develop and mentor staff, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and industry developments; lead testing and implementation of new solutions.
- Collaborate with accounts payable and other departments to ensure timely payments.
- Analyze data to support operational strategies.
- Support business units within the territory and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Manage a case load involving travel, training, and meetings.
- Oversee daily activities of employees, including hiring, firing, and reviews.
- Lead efforts to meet departmental objectives, improve processes, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of loss prevention/asset protection experience, or high school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in data analysis and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word at a basic level.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Strong time management skills and flexibility to work varying schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Certifications such as Wicklander-Zulawski and LPC/CFI.
- At least 3 years operating asset protection systems and equipment.
- Leadership experience in cross-functional teams.
