Job summary

Peloton seeks a proactive Manager, Accounting to bridge core accounting with ongoing process modernization. You will lead GAAP-compliant close processes, automate workflows, and coordinate with offshore teams to improve accuracy and efficiency.

You will supervise staff, refine COA and ERP implementations, and support external audits. A CPA and 7+ years in accounting, across private and public sectors, are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, mix of private and public preferred.
  • CPA license in good standing.
  • Experience with process optimization, workflow automation, and AI in accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Close month-end by reviewing reconciliations and guiding staff.
  • Lead initiatives for efficiency, scalability, control automation, and reporting quality across controllership.
  • Assist in implementing GAAP-based policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with offshore accounting team to guide daily deliverables and reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual workflows via automation and AI tooling.
  • Review journal entries and GL reconciliations weekly and monthly.
  • Review expense accounts for accruals, coding, and accuracy.
  • Redesign the Chart of Accounts and support ERP enhancements.
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues promptly.
  • Partner with FP&A to monitor operating expenses and variances.
  • Support year-end financial statement audits and statutory audits.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a proactive, motivated, and process-minded Manager, Accounting to join our Accounting team! This role bridges core accounting with continuous process modernization. You will play a key role in the Accounting and Finance department during a dynamic period of process transformation. In this role, you will be responsible for both core accounting and driving finance transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, control automation, and reporting quality. You will identify and implement automation, leverage AI, and eliminate manual workflows - all while ensuring strong internal controls, high reporting quality, and close alignment with cross-functional partners and offshore teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, external reporting processes, and internal controls, as well as a thorough understanding of Peloton’s multifaceted business. YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
  • Play an important role in the month-end financial statement close process by reviewing account reconciliations, keeping team priorities on track and assisting staff, and working with various cost centers throughout the organization to acquire relevant information
  • Lead initiatives focused on driving efficiency, scalability, control automation, and reporting quality across the controllership organization
  • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with GAAP principles
  • Partner closely with our offshore accounting team to guide daily deliverables, review work products, streamline handoffs, and ensure consistent quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual, Excel-heavy workflows through automation, AI tooling, and enhanced workpaper standardization
  • Review and approve journal entries and GL reconciliations prepared by staff/senior accountants on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Perform a detailed review of expense accounts for proper accruals, coding, and accounting
  • Assist in the redesign and structure of our Chart of Accounts (COA) and partner on ERP-based implementations and enhancements
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies/anomalies and communicate issues as they arise in a timely manner
  • Partner with FP&A team and business department owners to improve monitoring and tracking of operating expenses for cost centers, advise on accounting policies, calculate and record appropriate accruals each month, and understand the key drivers and variances to budget/forecast
  • Support the year-end financial statement audit, as well as any statutory audits that may arise
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a mix of private and public accounting experience preferred
  • Education and/or comparable professional experience in Accounting or related field
  • Active CPA license in good standing
  • Proven track record managing and developing the careers of direct reports
  • Proven track record or strong interest in process optimization, workflow automation, and leveraging tech/AI solutions to modernize accounting functions
  • Experience with a Big 4 firm and/or SEC-registered company
  • Must be a highly organized, meticulous self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Able to work effectively with all levels of an organization and manage relationships with external parties
  • Strong Excel skills - must be comfortable analyzing and manipulating large data sets
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with Netsuite and/or Oracle ARCs preferred
  • Industry experience in SaaS-based technology companies, retail, consumer products, and/or media a plus
  • Experience in a high growth organization
  • Experience working with or managing offshore/global delivery teams is a plus
  • International reporting is a plus

Base Salary Range

$123,600 — $151,850 USD
