Job summary

Orenda is hiring a Manager, Remote Operations (Asset Management) in New York, NY to lead the fleet's 24/7 real-time control and data intelligence function. You will own the NOC, EMS/SCADA tools, alarm philosophy, and 24/7 dispatch through an outsourced vendor and an in-house daytime desk.

You will build processes, playbooks, dashboards, and performance reporting while coordinating with grid operators and the asset management team to optimize revenue and asset availability.

Qualifications

• Must own or defend an alarm philosophy and response playbooks with data.
• Demonstrated incident command from live events end to end.
• Analytics and dashboard reporting proficiency for leadership action.
• Experience enforcing SLAs using independent data.
• Experience building or scaling a monitoring/ control function.

Responsibilities

• Own 24/7 fleet monitoring and remote triage through the outsourced NOC vendor; alarm philosophy, severity matrix adoption, response playbooks, escalation paths.
• Stand up and run the in-house daytime desk: monitoring, triage, vendor handoff, discrepancy log.
• Dispatch Site Operations and OEMs/vendors; manage work orders in the CMMS; elevate engineering issues.
• Serve as the 24/7 real-time contact for utility grid operators; verify automated dispatch schedules.
• Maintain the official system-of-record event log for alarms, actions, dispatches, and grid-operator comms.
• Own the fleet's inbound call line; route to Central Operations for triage, logging, and dispatch.
• Own the fleet's operational data; ingest telemetry and market data into summaries, reports, dashboards.
• Run the NOC with the vendor today and roadmap to bring NOC in-house when scale justifies it.
• Coordinate with Construction and Development ahead of handover so monitoring playbooks are ready.
• Start hands-on across desk and analytics; build and lead the control-center and performance/markets teams.
• Act as data watchdog: monitor warranty data and assemble data packages for claims initiation.
• Provide revenue strategy and operating constraints for the automated dispatch engine.
• Audit market revenue statements against meter data; conduct performance back-testing.
• Manage NOC vendor SLAs; scorecards, quarterly reviews, and vendor vs in-house evaluations.
• Build and lead Central Operations; hire, train Daytime Desk Operator and Performance & Markets Analyst.
• Serve as real-time contact for Con Edison and NYISO; manage VDER/DLM events and grid comms.
• Coordinate with peer managers to route on-site response and ensure handovers are completed.
