Job summary

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Environmental Sciences, Fisheries Sciences or related field; relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• Minimum 5 years in public forums or policy settings related to natural resources or treaty rights.
• 5+ years working with Tribal Governments.
• 5+ years computer experience with MS Office.
• 5+ years supervisory/leadership experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Treaty Rights Manager will represent the Tulalip Tribes in tribal, federal, state, and local forums for environmental policy development. This position will research, identify, analyzes and tracks policy and legislation on the local, state and federal level as it pertains to tribal sovereignty, treaty rights and a variety of issues that affect tribal governments. Develop and promote relationships through networking opportunities with federal, state and local governments, including their agencies. Coordinate with Tulalips’ state and federal lobbyists in an effort to advance Tulalip’s policy goals through legislation. Provide support, policy guidance and direction to the Director of Treaty Rights and Government Affairs in achieving the mission of the department.

COMPENSATION

$41.06 hr.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Environmental Sciences, Fisheries Sciences or related fields. * Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE

• Five (5) years of experience in public forums.
• Five (5) years of experience working in Natural Resources or with Treaty Rights.
• Five (5) years of experience working with Tribal Governments.
• Five (5) years of computer experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
• Five (5)years of experience with supervisory responsibilities, developing and building teams.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES

• WA State Driver’s License. (Personal Auto Insurance)
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a regular Full-Time position.
