Job description

Full-Time | Leadership + Canine Operations

At Pawparazzi Pet Resort, our mission is to enrich the lives of pets and their families through every service we offer.

We are looking for an experienced, confident, and compassionate Pet Resort Manager who can lead people, understand dogs, deliver exceptional client service, and keep a busy pet care operation running at the highest standard.

This is not a desk-only management position.

Our Manager is actively involved in the operation every day. You may start your morning conducting a temperament test with a new dog, coach a team member through a challenging situation, speak with a client, supervise a daycare playgroup, inspect the facility for cleanliness, and make sure every activity and service stays on schedule.

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves both sides of leadership: developing people and caring for dogs.

What You'll Do
  • Canine Behavior & Safety
  • Conduct temperament tests for new dogs entering our daycare and boarding programs
  • Confidently evaluate canine body language, play styles, stress signals, social compatibility, and potential safety concerns
  • Make sound decisions regarding whether dogs are appropriate for group play and other services
  • Safely handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
  • Step into our daycare program as a Pack Leader when needed and confidently manage a group of up to 15 off-leash dogs
  • Help coach team members on safe dog handling, group management, and canine behavior
  • Support the continued development of our safety and dog-handling standards
  • Dog training experience is highly valued, but not required
  • Lead, coach, train, and motivate team members throughout each shift
  • Maintain a leadership style that is compassionate, approachable, firm, and accountable
  • Give clear feedback and address performance concerns promptly and professionally
  • Help employees grow through hands-on coaching and ongoing training
  • Lead by example and be willing to jump into operations when the team needs support
  • Maintain a positive, professional, team-focused work environment
  • Hold high standards without losing empathy or respect for the people you lead
Daily Resort Operations
  • Manage the flow of each day and ensure daycare, Camp, enrichment activities, boarding care, cleaning, feeding, medications, and other scheduled services are completed on time and at the highest quality
  • Prioritize and delegate effectively in a fast-paced environment where needs can change quickly
  • Regularly walk the facility and identify issues before they become problems
  • Ensure the entire resort remains clean, organized, safe, and tour ready at all times
  • Follow up with team members to ensure assigned responsibilities are actually completed, not simply delegated
  • Support all departments as needed to keep operations running smoothly
Client Experience
  • Help onboard new clients and introduce them to Pawparazzi's services, policies, and standards of care
  • Build trust with pet parents by confidently communicating about their dog's behavior, experience, and needs
  • Handle client questions, concerns, and difficult situations professionally
  • Resolve problems with empathy while protecting company policies and operational standards
  • Deliver the level of customer service expected from a premium pet care facility
  • Help turn first-time clients into long-term members of our PAW Pack
Who We're Looking For

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of canine behavior and body language
  • Experience safely handling dogs in a professional environment
  • Ability to confidently manage up to 15 off-leash dogs in a daycare playgroup
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to make calm, confident decisions under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Willingness to clean and perform hands-on operational work alongside the team
  • Physical ability to work an 8-hour shift primarily on your feet
  • Physical ability to safely handle and control large and strong dogs
  • Availability to work within the scheduling needs of a seven-day pet care operation
Highly Preferred:
  • Professional dog daycare, boarding, training, or pet resort experience
  • Dog training experience or formal canine behavior education
  • Experience conducting canine temperament or behavioral evaluations
  • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced service environment
The Leadership Style We Value

We aren't looking for someone who manages from an office. We want a leader who is present.

Someone who notices when a team member needs coaching. Someone who can be compassionate while still holding people accountable. Someone who doesn't walk past a mess because "that's someone else's job." Someone who can calmly take control when a dog-related or client-related situation becomes difficult. You should be comfortable saying both "Let me show you how" and "This needs to improve."

Our ideal Manager understands that great culture isn't created by avoiding difficult conversations. It's created by communicating clearly, treating people with respect, setting expectations, recognizing great work, and consistently holding the entire team to the same high standards.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Manager at Pawparazzi helps create a resort where:

  • Dogs are safe, understood, engaged, and genuinely cared for.
  • Clients feel confident and excited leaving their pets with us.
  • Team members know exactly what is expected of them and have fun doing it.
  • Employees receive coaching, recognition, training, and accountability.
  • Activities and services happen correctly and on time.
  • The facility is clean, organized, safe, and always ready for a client tour.
  • Problems are addressed instead of ignored.
  • The team works together with professionalism and positive energy.

Most importantly, you'll help protect and strengthen a culture built around one simple belief:

Genuine care changes everything.

If you're passionate about dogs, confident leading people, comfortable getting your hands dirty, and excited about helping both pets and people thrive, we'd love to meet you!
