Job summary

XTRA Lease is seeking a Management Trainee in Columbus, OH. You will learn the ins and outs of running a trailer rental facility within the national supply chain, developing skills in customer service, fleet management, vendor relations, invoicing and leadership.

Over 1–3 years, you will work with experienced managers who mentor your growth; you may advance to Operations Manager or Outside Sales and participate in professional development within a Berkshire Hathaway business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent relevant experience in customer-facing rental operations or outside sales.
• 1-2 years of Customer Service experience; or 1-2 Sales Representative/ Business Development experience.
• Willing to relocate out-of-state to another of our nationwide facilities upon promotion.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Self-starter, highly motivated, critical-thinking, and conscientious.
• Strong customer service skills; including the ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Learn to support the operation of rental facilities and grow skills in customer service, fleet management, vendor relations, invoicing and leadership.
• Assist with determining equipment needs and explaining trailer rental options to customers.
• Inspect trailers for damage or mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with vendors.
• Manage customer accounts including credit and collections tasks.
• Support promotion pathways into Operations Manager or Outside Sales roles.
