Management Company & Fund Accountant – Recently Launched Quant Hedge Fund – NYC

We’re looking for a motivated accounting professional to support the Controller of a newly launched, NYC-based quantitative hedge fund. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing platform, taking ownership of management company accounting while working closely with senior leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain books and records for the management company, including fee revenue and expense allocations.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and management reporting.
• Support annual audit and tax processes with external providers.
• Partner with the Controller to build scalable processes and strengthen financial controls
• Collaborate with the fund administrator to review NAV packages, capital statements, and investor allocations.
• Perform internal reviews of fund expenses, valuations, and performance reporting.
• Assist with fund-level audits, financial statement preparation, and regulatory filings.
• Support capital activity tracking and investor reporting.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–7 years of accounting experience, ideally within asset management or financial services.
• Strong understanding of management company accounting, expense tracking, and reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; exposure to fund/management company structures a plus.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
