Position Summary
The City of La Mesa is currently accepting job applications for Management Analyst or Senior Management Analyst, to fill a vacancy in the Community Services Department. The selected candidate may be hired as either a Management Analyst or Senior Management Analyst, depending upon the candidate's qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of complex and diverse professional-level analytical and administrative duties as requested by higher-level management in the Office of the City Manager, departments or major divisions including special projects, research studies, budget analysis, and other specialized functions; coordinate and perform a variety of contract and grant administration duties; prepare reports to improve operational efficiency; coordinate activities with other departments, outside agencies, and the public; provide information and assistance to the public regarding programs and services; and perform other duties as required.
Management Analyst- Employees in this classification receive occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Work is normally reviewed only on completion and for overall results.
Senior Management Analyst- Employees in this classification perform the most complex, difficult, and responsible administrative, financial, and analytical work requiring discretion and interpretation. They work independently, oversee programs or projects, and exercise responsible decision-making skills.
Additional Information
This position will receive a 6% salary increase effective the first full pay period on or after July 1, 2025.
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field; Master's preferred. Management Analyst requires at least 3 years of relevant experience; Senior Management Analyst requires at least 5 years and supervisory experience. Valid driver's license required.
