Job summary

NASA’s Ames Research Center in California seeks a Management Analyst to support guidance of manufacturing operations, optimize business finances, support planning, and execute resource management for the Applied Manufacturing Division (Code RM).   • Supporting manufacturing processes, production plans, and resource schedules to meet project milestones and delivery requirements.
  • Reviewing project delivery data and recommending methods to improve cost or schedule efficiencies.
  • Supporting the development of business models and forecasting plans to improve organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support managerial, and administrative direction for in-house and contracted fabrication, machining, and manufacturing work.
  • Support the effectiveness of the Division’s business operations by implementing established procedures and systems and recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Support and coordinate the planning and execution of manufacturing and production activities for flight hardware, ground support equipment, assemblies, and components.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and briefings and prepare and maintain reports to support senior-level staff in the management of tasks and projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, and cost estimates for technical adequacy; monitor and report progress or problems; and recommend changes or alternative approaches to support conformance with established plans and specifications.
  • Support and coordinate planning activities for new business opportunities, including partnerships, technical and budgetary aspects of projects, Space Act Agreements, and other interagency agreements.
  • Support the planning and coordination of resources for multi-phase projects in support of the Agency’s mission; monitor project schedules and resource requirements and identify potential issues affecting project needs.
  • Analyze business operations and organizational processes and recommend improvements to increase productivity and efficiency.

Job description

These tasks enable the Division's mission success through strategic coordination of resources for efficient operational and administrative support.

Duties

Requirements
  • This position is open to U.S. citizens, nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.
  • This position may require a one-year probationary period. If selected, the requirement to serve such period will be determined by Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 11. **See Additional Information section**
