Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA, seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography, interventional and contrast-enhanced procedures in a busy imaging department. Work includes patient history, explaining procedures, and maintaining documentation.

The role requires ARRT Mammography certification, BLS, and an accredited radiologic technology program with mammography training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Accredited program in radiologic technology with mammography training.
• Minimum 5 years mammography experience.
• ARRT Mammography certification upon hire and BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures, interventional and contrast enhanced procedures.
• Obtains patient history, explains procedures and addresses patient concerns.
• Administers intravenous contrast media under physician supervision and manages reactions.
• Assists in training other technologists and ensures competency.
• Maintains department quality assurance and documentation; coordinates cases with other exams.

Performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures, interventional procedures and/or contrast enhanced procedures according to established practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures, interventional procedures and/or contrast enhanced procedures. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
• Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reactions) and treats properly.
• Under the direction of a Team Leader, is responsible for assisting in the training of other technologists, certifying that techs meet competencies.
• Maintains department quality assurance programs.
• Positions patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedures.
• Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Prepares, maintains and scans appropriate documentation required by the department.

Work Experience

• 5 years Mammography experience. Required

Licenses

• Registered Technologist-Mammography - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses And Training

• Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in mammography procedures. Upon Hire Required
