Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist to provide safe, high-quality imaging. This part-time role offers a predictable schedule in a fast-paced clinical environment, with emphasis on patient comfort and clear communication.

You will perform exams per physician orders, ensure accurate labeling, and maintain QC checks while collaborating with a supportive care team and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Minimum 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two identifiers.
• Gather relevant patient history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam to reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first-time acceptance rate before release.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and keep equipment clean.
• Complete QC tests including phantom, visual checklist, compression tests, and DICOM printer checks.
• Ensure images are labeled, oriented, and documented in PACS/RIS; complete daily charge capture.
• Assist training of new team members and support cross-area coverage as needed.
