Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform mammographic examinations (screening and diagnostic), breast needle localizations, and specimen radiographs, as well as routine diagnostic radiology for patients of all ages. You will ensure image quality, assist radiologists, conduct QA/QC, and manage workflow with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• ARRT registered or registry eligible with commitment to taking the registry within one year.
• Valid State of Rhode Island Radiographer license.
• CPR certification.
• Experience as Radiologic Technologist performing routine diagnostic radiology exams.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain accurate medical history and records data in mammography system.
• Differentiate screening vs diagnostic mammograms based on indications and history.
• Perform all mammography views and assist radiologists in breast localizations.
• Set up room using aseptic techniques for biopsies and localizations.
• Perform and document QA/QC tests as mandated by authorities.
• Provide patient information and educational literature on mammography and guidelines.
• Check image quality and adjust technique per patient needs.
• Evaluate images and request additional films if necessary.
• Report equipment issues to lead technologist.
• Coordinate patient flow and maintain inventory of supplies.
