Summary

The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic mammographic procedures in hospital, clinic, or mobile van sites, following established protocols to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include operating digital mammography equipment, positioning patients, preparing contrast media, and selecting appropriate exposure factors based on patient age, pathology, and diagnosis. The role involves producing technically accurate digital and analog images to aid radiologists, with opportunities to train in DEXA, stereotactic/needle localization, and Contrast Enhanced Mammography.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiography program.
• CT State Radiographer's License required.
• ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (M) preferred.
• Current x-ray and mammography experience highly preferred.
• Acute care and invasive procedure experience highly preferred.
