MedStar Health is looking for a Mammography Technologist to join our team!
The ideal candidate will be an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified individual with anatomical knowledge.
The Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and Mammography.

Evaluates images for technical quality, provides hard copy records, and maintains image archives, ensuring proper identification. Prepares, identifies, and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures. Provides patient education and postprocedural instructions. Positions patients to best demonstrate area of interest, assumes responsibility for physical and psychological needs of patient during procedures, and provides immobilization assistance when necessary, ensuring safety. Performs patient follow-up as required by MQSA/ACR standards.
Verifies informed consent form and assists a licensed practitioner during interventional, needle localization, and biopsy procedures, employing sterile techniques. Transports patients to appropriate imaging area; prepares and maintains room. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventive maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis including any quality control required.
Performs QC as required by MQSA and ACR standards. Has knowledge of frequency of performance, limits of acceptability, and appropriate action to be taken when not acceptable. Performs radiographic examinations as assigned.
Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department. Completes necessary clerical and computer tasks as required. Provides instruction on and demonstrates equipment operation, filming, and other technical topics for staff and students. Conducts didactic for students as required. Requests and orders supplies as necessary.
Certification by the ARRT and licensed by the State of Maryland.
Mammography and diagnostic experience.
Associate degree preferred.
This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $56.85.
