  3. Shift Details: PRN - Fluctuating shift based on PTO and department needs.
  4. Additional Details: Shift differentials given for evenings, nights and weekends

Who We Are: American Fork Hospital (https://intermountainhealthcare.org/locations/american-fork-hospital) is a nationally recognized community hospital with a commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of the rapidly growing population in North Utah County.

We offer state-of-the art technology, 89 beds, and a medical staff of more than 300 doctors representing 30 specialties. We are committed to offering a wide range of quality inpatient and outpatient services, including a fully equipped emergency department and a Level II NICU.

Essential Functions

  1. Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  2. Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  3. Performs radiologic mammography exams per department protocol including advanced Mammography procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages, etc.
  4. Demonstrates positioning competency.
  5. Operates the mammographic equipment to ensure that diagnostic images of high quality are produced.
  6. Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  7. Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
  2. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  3. Radiology Tech license in state of practice.
  4. Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. ARRT Mammography or currently attending and receiving formal training to cross-train in mammography.
  2. Experience in Imaging (preferred).
  3. Experience in Mammography (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  2. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  3. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  4. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. This typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  5. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  6. May be expected to stand in a stationary position for a long time.
