Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms and assist radiologists in procedures. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and high-quality imaging under ALARA principles.

Ideal candidates have ARRT-R certification within six months, a NYS radiologic license or permit, and excellent customer service with strong communication skills. Per diem schedule; some travel to other RRH imaging locations may occur.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree in Radiologic Technologist or equivalent.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology OR NYS permit with renewal within six months.
• ARRT-R certification required within six months of employment.
• ARRT-M Advanced Mammography Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains documentation of exams using RIS/PACS and inpatient charts.
• Performs screening, diagnostic, and mammographic procedures.
• Monitors image quality per ACR standards.
• Ensures equipment functionality and performs QA activities daily.
• Adheres to department protocols and radiologist guidance.
• Prepares rooms, assists with handoffs, and trains imaging staff as needed.
• Coordinates patient safety and radiation safety in ALARA principles.
