Job summary

Rochester Regional Health in Geneva, NY is seeking a Mammo Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography with emphasis on patient comfort and safety. You will position patients, obtain quality images, and support the radiology team under ARRT/Mammography standards.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to work variable hours per diem. Per diem schedule includes rotating day shifts with potential weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree in Radiologic Technology or NYS license in Radiologic Technology.
• Must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment.
• ARRT-R certification required within six months of employment.
• Prior Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
• ARRT-M certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work with various software applications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures using RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary.
• Performs screening, diagnostic, and/or assists in performing mammographic procedures.
• Monitors image quality to ensure alignment with ACR standards.
• Monitors equipment for proper performance and functionality.
• Performs Mammography QA activities under supervision of the Mammo QA technologist.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY As a Mammo Tech, you are to demonstrate excellent customer service, communication skills, and obtain quality positioning and imaging quality studies while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients. Warm and comforting patient care skills are mandatory for these sensitive procedures. Performs screening and diagnostic mammogram examinations and assists the radiologist in performing mammographic procedures. This team member’s role is to obtain images of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to the patient undergoing these exams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary. Performs screening, diagnostic, and/or assists in performing mammographic procedures. Monitors image quality on a continuous basis to ensure that all image quality is within alignment with the ACR quality standards. (American College of Radiology). Monitors equipment for proper performance and functionality. Performs daily and periodic Mammography QA activities under the direct supervision of the Mammo QA technologist. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two-year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent NYS license in Radiologic Technology OR must hold a NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) required within six months of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior Radiologic Technologist experience. ARRT-M Advanced Mammography Certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work with various software applications. Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

PAY RANGE:

$29.50 - $42.50 CITY: Geneva POSTAL CODE: 14456 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
