Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Mammography
  • Schedule: PRN, as needed to work evening schedule
  • Hospital: Ascension Alexian Brothers
  • Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
  • Salary: $38.35 - $49.25 per hour
What You Will Do

Provide mammography imaging services.

  • Operate equipment and perform various mammography-related procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients, selecting anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients about the importance of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
  • Develop and evaluate the film for technical quality, including density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from ARRT obtained prior to hire or transfer date. Any specialty accepted. Radiologic Technologist issued by Illinois Emergency Management Agency in combination with ARRT certification.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from ARRT obtained prior to hire or transfer date. Any specialty accepted. Radiologic Technologist issued by Illinois Emergency Management Agency in combination with ARRT certification.
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from ARDMS obtained prior to hire or transfer date.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, or an Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable experience.
Additional Preferences

Monday to Friday, 7:15 am to 3:45 pm shift.
Every 5th Wednesday rotation, 11:00 am to 7:30 pm.
One Saturday per month, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
