Qualifications

• Completion from an accredited radiography program.
• Registration in radiography and mammography by the ARRT or registry eligibility.
• One year mammography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and operate imaging equipment following specific physicians' orders.
• Produce detailed scans for breast and DEXA exams.
• Ensure exams are archived on the PACS.
• Maintain facilities and keep abreast of new departmental imaging.

Skills

Registered in Radiology Technology by the ARRT with advanced Mammography Certification

Current CPR certification thru the American Heart Association

Physical dexterity to operate complex stationary and mobile radiation-producing equipment

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Effective interaction and communication skills

Ability to perform accurately with attention to detail

Ability to function competently in stressful situations

Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system

Effective time management

Education
