Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ARRT registration and/or Mammography registry required or eligible.
• If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Must meet MQSA criteria and maintain CME hours.
• Must comply with regulatory standards for Mammography.

Responsibilities

• Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient.
• Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs examination.
• Obtains additional information about patient history as needed.
• Prepares procedure room and replenishes stock; sets up equipment and performs radiologic procedure.
• Manually controls equipment to obtain diagnostic information.
• Uses patient immobilization as needed.
• Applies ALARA radiation protection principles, including shielding and appropriate dose settings.
