Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X‑Ray Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a part‑time role. You will perform mammography exams, verify patient identity, and ensure high‑quality images while supporting a patient‑centered care approach.

The position emphasizes safe imaging, patient instruction, and collaboration within a fast‑paced imaging team. A strong focus on accuracy, privacy, and ongoing education is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of Radiologic Technologist experience and 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.
• ARRT‑R (Radiography), ARRT‑M (Mammography), BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and verify patient identity with two identifiers.
• Explain the exam clearly using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety.
• Protect patient privacy and comfort while assisting with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and achieve a strong first‑time acceptance rate.
• Label, orient, and document images in PACS/RIS; complete daily charge capture.
• Operate equipment safely, optimize dose, and maintain infection control.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑exam instructions and support training of new staff.
