Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform routine mammography and bone densitometry under radiologist supervision. The role emphasizes high-quality imaging, adherence to MQSA/ACR guidelines, and education of students in the Mammography program.

The position requires Virginia licensure, ARRT registration (R) with M preferred, BLS, and mammalspecific experience. Cross-training completion and strong EMR skills are valued, with a commitment to safe, accurate patient

Qualifications

• Radiologic Technologist license required from the Commonwealth of Virginia
• ARRT (R) registered radiologic technologist; ARRT (M) preferred; registry within one year if not current
• BLS certification required
• Six months relevant experience; three months in mammography preferred or completed cross-training program
• Bone densitometry and stereotactic breast biopsy experience preferred
• Experience with EMR, Radiology, and information systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for mammography examinations and verify orders and screening criteria
• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography and bone densitometry on all ages and conditions
• Maintain safety and radiation protection practices
• Supervise and mentor students in the Mammography program
• Document and bill procedures accurately in the EMR/Radiology system
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities for the Mammography department
• Ensure timely communication of results to Radiologist and patients
