Job summary

New York Imaging (NYI) is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform routine and diagnostic mammography, assist with stereotactic biopsies, and manage imaging quality and safety. The role involves patient positioning, exposure control, and clear patient communication to alleviate anxiety.

Requirements include a minimum of one year in Mammography and ARRT licensure. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. On-site work with a 4-day workweek and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of continuous experience in Mammography.
• Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Availability to work daytime weekday hours.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and diagnostic mammography procedures.
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies.
• Track inventory and manage supply orders.
• Provide courteous and professional explanations of procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adjust exposure factors to set controls and produce high-quality images.
• Process images and review them for proper identification and quality control.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Orient and train new hires.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
