Job summary

New York Imaging (NYI) seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) in Brooklyn to support radiology procedures, monitor patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

You will provide IV starts for CT and PET/CT, monitor vitals, and educate patients and families about treatment expectations while maintaining high-quality standards across NYI facilities.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN License.
• BLS certification required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR system preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation to NYCBS locations.

Responsibilities

• Start and maintain IVs for radiology procedures including CT and PET/CT scans.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, weight and height.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Conduct cancer research to enhance treatment protocols for patients.
• Provide supportive resources for patients and families to promote a positive outlook.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment expectations.
• Observe and record patient progress and response to treatment.
• Complete MAR after treatment.
• Provide discharge instructions with post-care numbers.

Job Description:

Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Brooklyn

Hours/Days: Mon, Tue, Thurs 8AM - 6PM EST (3 10-hour shifts)

Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)

In This Role, You Will:

• Start and Maintain IV’s for Radiology procedures including but not limited to CT scans and PET/CT scans.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, weight and height
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Conduct cancer research to enhance treatment protocols assigned to cancer patients.
• Provide supportive resources for the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
• Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
• Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis.
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Complete MAR after treatment.
• Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.

We Require:

• Valid New York State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
