Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Minimum 1 year radiologic technologist and mammography experience.
• ARRT-R and ARRT-M certifications; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician orders/protocols.
• Gather patient history, explain procedures, address concerns to reduce anxiety.
• Review images for quality and first-time acceptance.
• Operate mammography equipment safely and optimize imaging; maintain infection control.
• Document quality control tests and label; manage PACS/RIS entries and charges.
• Maintain a clean, stocked suite; apply shielding; assist patient prep and post-exam instructions.
• Assist in training new staff; communicate professionally in a fast-paced team; stay current with education requirements.

Job description

• Gather patient history, explain procedures clearly, and address patient concerns to reduce anxiety.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a high first-time acceptance rate.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize imaging techniques, and adhere to infection control standards.
• Conduct and document quality control tests, ensure accurate labeling and documentation in PACS/RIS, and handle daily procedure charges.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked suite, apply shielding, and support patient preparation and post-exam instructions.
• Assist in training new staff, communicate professionally within a fast-paced team, and stay current with education requirements.

Qualifications include: a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited radiologic technology program, minimum one year of radiologic technologist and mammography experience, ARRT-R and ARRT-M certifications, and BLS certification.
