SUMMARY:

Demonstrates cooperative attitude in accomplishing the common goal of patient care within the department and with other personnel affected by the department of Diagnostic Imaging. The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease, and works in tandem with other medical personnel in order to achieve organizational goals.

DUTIES:

  • Maintains and performs all Q.C functions as required under FDA/MQSA. regulations.
  • Performs diagnostic and screening mammograms as ordered.
  • Obtains prior mammogram exams for comparison based on patient’s information.
  • Performs mammogram patient- screening prior to the exam.
  • Produces high quality images per ACR/MQSA guidelines
  • Educates patients regarding the mammogram exam, and answers patient’s question.
  • Promotes privacy and comfort for the patient.
  • Assists the Imaging Director with ACR and MQSA certification tasks
  • Performs impeccable Equipment QC including “reading monitor” QC per ACR and MQSA requirement.
  • Compiles statistical data, and patient follow-up Bird numbers.
  • Maintains all continued medical education, and required mammogram exam numbers as required by MQSA.
  • Demonstrates competency in the operation of Mammography equipment.
  • Follows Infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Must be willing to train technologists into mammography
  • Ensures the safety of the patient at all times while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
  • Understands the use of Meditech, PACS, BARCO monitor.
  • Assumes responsibility for general department cleanliness and neatness.
  • Is familiar with all departmental routines, scheduling process, record keeping and procedures offered. Knows progression of the departmental workflow and paperwork, including complete submission of exams to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • Wears a radiation monitor at all times while working in the department.
  • Maintains professional affiliation(s) and certifications for own professional growth and as required by such organizations as to stay current and in compliance.
  • Maintains familiarity with and complies with professional ethics.
  • Participate in committees as assigned.
  • Perform in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulatory agency standards.
  • Perform in accordance with EPH vision, mission and goals.
  • All other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must have at least one-year experience as a Mammogram Technologist and experienced in Q. C.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Meets all MQSA requirements
  • American Heart Association BLS

PAY RANGE:

$34.00 - $46.24 per hour

$10,000 bonus after 90 days of employment!
