Position Summary

Provides quality patient care when performing mammography imaging services and related procedures by applying x-ray energy to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Location: 10889 W. Colonial Dr, Ocoee, FL 34761

Hours: 3/12s Thursday-Saturday 7am-7pm shift

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Complies with FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulates technical factors to achieve desired high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and ensures all breast anatomy is demonstrated according to MQSA/ACR guidelines.
  • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Utilizes Radiology Information System to accurately show arrival and completion of exams, correct coding of procedures, and retrieval of reports.
  • Utilizes sterile technique for sterile procedures in accordance with OH policy and training. Administers medical aid as required for any emergency.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Qualifications
Education/Training
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must have and maintain CME points as mandated by MQSA.
Licensure/Certification
  • Valid Florida state license.
  • Valid ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology.
  • BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
