Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technician to perform screening mammography and ensure compliance with MQSA/State regulations. The role involves training under supervision to achieve licensure, followed by independent work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must possess relevant certifications and a commitment to patient care.
Under the general direction from the Manager, the incumbent completes requirements to obtain Mammography licensure under supervision to gain competence in the operation of mammographic equipment and patient care and positioning. After licensure, the individual independently performs screening mammography. Image quality is evaluated according to MQSA/State regulations and departmental guidelines. The incumbent works with designated training Mammographer(s) while working toward licensure; then as an individual contributor and part of a multidisciplinary team once licensure is obtained. Additional duties may be assigned, and coverage at alternate MGB sites may be required with adequate training to ensure seamless patient care.
