Mammography Technologist (40 Hours, Days/Evenings)

Job Summary

The Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic mammograms, bone densitometry, and may also undertake radiography tasks. Responsibilities include working under supervision, maintaining technical proficiency, fostering effective team relationships, and participating in quality assurance and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Adhere to policies and maintain communication regarding patient care, technical operations, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Ensure patients understand procedures and communicate professionally and compassionately.
  3. Coordinate patient flow with staff using hospital information and scheduling systems.
  4. Participate in quality assurance, infection control, radiation safety, and safety procedures.
  5. Perform quality control on imaging equipment and devices.
  6. Conduct technical procedures within modalities, assist radiologists, and perform injections as required.
  7. Manage imaging study backups, archives, and records efficiently.
  8. Comply with all regulatory and accreditation guidelines concerning pharmaceuticals, supplies, and materials.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Training and experience in radiography and mammography.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist licenses (Radiography and Mammography).
  • ARRT certifications in Radiography (RT(R)) and Mammography (RT(M)).
  • Proficiency with imaging equipment, hospital information systems, and communication devices.
  • Strong English communication skills, physical ability to position patients, and manipulate imaging equipment.
