Job summary

VillageMD in New Britain, CT is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality mammography imaging in a physician-led, patient-centric network. You will follow radiation safety standards, verify patient identity, and prepare patients for procedures while maintaining patient dignity and comfort.

Responsibilities include daily QA, accurate documentation, and cross-training to support department needs.

Qualifications

• Connecticut State License and ARRT Certification with Mammography modality.
• Maintain high-quality diagnostic imaging per standardized procedures.
• Excellent patient and people skills.
• Knowledge of anatomy and positioning techniques for mammography.
• Continuing education credits and professional licenses as required by authorities.

Responsibilities

• Mammography Technologist must follow physicians’ orders precisely and conform to radiation safety regulations.
• Verify correct patient identification and route studies to PACS.
• Maintain daily log of patients seen.
• Operate imaging equipment to produce high quality mammographic images.
• Prepare patients for imaging and provide education about procedures.
• Observe QA and safety procedures, including radiation protection.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and maintain PACS system familiarity.
• Cross-train to perform additional modalities as needed.
