Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist - Level I to perform the full range of screening and diagnostic imaging and contribute to accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The role emphasizes patient safety, image quality, and adherence to MQSA and ARRT standards.

The position requires licensure in radiography as applicable in state of service and ARRT registrations, with 1 year of mammography experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires state radiography licensure (MD/OH/WV) and ARRT registrations for Radiography and Mammography.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan imaging procedures based on patient needs and exam scope.
• Develop and maintain competency across all mammography exams.
• Maintain anatomy/physiology knowledge to optimize imaging and patient safety.
• Position and compress patients accurately and image all breast tissue.
• Minimize radiation exposure through shielding and correct exposure factors.
• Evaluate image quality for protocol compliance and identify artifacts.
• Educate patients about mammographic procedures and answer questions.
• Document imaging activities per regulatory requirements (ACR, federal).
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and staff to solve problems and implement systems.
• Perform quality control tests per manufacturer and MQSA requirements.
• Maintain ethical imaging practices per ARRT guidelines and hospital policies.
• Report equipment failures promptly and maintain a clean work area.
• Prepare contrast agents and sterile trays for procedures as needed.
• Maintain MQSA compliance.
