Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to perform a full range of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. The role requires ARRT Radiography and Mammography registrations, state licensure as applicable, and BLS certification. MQSA compliance and patient safety are essential.

Responsibilities include imaging based on patient needs, image quality evaluation, and meticulous documentation. Expect high standards of care and collaboration with the health team.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided.
• Registered in Radiography by the ARRT.
• Registered in Mammography with the ARRT.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
• ARRT Certification in Mammography upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans the performance of the imaging procedure based on needs of the patient (to include all exams within job scope).
• Maintains expertise in anatomy, physiology and pathology relative to imaging to optimize procedures and patient safety.
• Positions and compresses the patient accurately for mammography and fully images all breast tissue.
• Minimizes radiation exposure to patients and staff by shielding and selecting exposure factors.
• Evaluates images for protocol compliance and image quality, ensuring proper patient identification on every image.
• Documents imaging activities accurately and in accordance with applicable mandates.
• Performs a full range of mammographic imaging quality control tests and documents them.
• Maintains MQSA compliance.
