Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a per diem Radiologic Technologist with mammography expertise for our Waltham site. You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, position patients, and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.

You will explain procedures and maintain patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced setting. The role requires a Certificate/Diploma in medical imaging, an active radiologic technologist license, ARRT registration, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in medical imaging is required or equivalent.
  • State Radiologic Technologist license is required.
  • ARRT registration is required.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days.
  • Experience in mammography is preferred within regulatory guidelines.

Summary
Responsible for performing a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.

Essential Functions
-Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
-Positions patients and uses immobilization if necessary.
-Selects proper mode to produce correct exposure factors.
-Evaluates images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
-Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate.
-Explains procedures to patients.

Education
Certificate/Diploma in medical imaging required, Associate’s preferred

Radiologic Technologist [State License] - required

Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - required

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - required within 90 days

Mammography [R.T.(M)(ARRT)] - required within 1 year

Experience in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agencies’ rules and regulations
