Shift: 4 x 10 hour shifts, 7am- 5:30pm. Preferred days Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri. (can discuss further)

Job Summary: Operates mammography equipment to produce radiographic images of the breast. Ability to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms; all specialty views, galactograms, needle localizations, and breast ultrasound.

Minimum Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Certification in Mammography required.

Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Competent to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms on men and women of mammography age 18 - 100 years. Demonstrated skills and knowledge of mammography unit and advanced positioning skills. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Performs diagnostic mammography, galactograms and needle localizations. Performs breast ultrasound: exercises appropriate judgement, efficiency, and correct technique in the performance of ultrasound imaging. Performs timely screening mammography, with less than 5% repeat rate. Enters accurate patient history and charges off exam. Explains exam in a manner patient can understand, gains patient cooperation and reduces patient anxiety. Complies with all departmental and hospital policies. Performs other duties as required by lead technologist or manager.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.

Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
