Job summary

Community First Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a full-time Mammography Technologist to perform all mammography procedures under supervision of a licensed practitioner, ensuring high quality images and patient safety. Responsibilities include confirming orders, educating patients, maintaining equipment and records, and communicating with radiologists.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years mammography experience, ARRT Mammography certification or eligibility, IEMA license, and a radiologic

Qualifications

  • 1+ to 2 years preferred of Mammography experience.
  • Graduate from an approved program in radiologic technology.
  • Must hold IEMA License.
  • AART registration or eligible.
  • Certification in Mammography or eligibility by the ARRT.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all mammography procedures with appropriate protocol.
  • Verifies physician orders and consults radiologists as needed.
  • Explains procedures and provides education to patients.
  • Performs equipment warm-up, calibration and safety checks.
  • Operates hospital computer system and maintains records.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Adheres to QC guidelines and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collects statistics and communicates changes to radiologist.

This opportunity is "Full Time"

Shift: 7:30am to 4pm Monday through Friday

2k Hire on Bonus

Performs all mammography procedures while under the general supervision of a licensed practitioner for the purposes of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders at a technical level not requiring constant supervision and within the scope of their license and according to established standards and practices of the ACR and Mammography Quality Standards A

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Performs all mammography procedures, with appropriate application of technical and positioning protocols.
  2. Verifies physician orders for instructions from requesting physician and consults with the radiologists.
  3. Explains procedure and provides education as appropriate.
  4. Performs equipment warm up, calibration and safety check as needed.
  5. Operates hospital computer system.
  6. Reports to supervisor any equipment malfunctions.
  7. Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for appropriate quality control.
  8. Responsible for departmental records.
  9. Collects statistics as directed.
  10. Communicates reactions, complications, changes in condition etc. to radiologist, physician.
