Job summary

Reston Hospital Center in Reston, VA, is seeking a Mammographer to join our radiology team. You will perform diagnostic, screening and interventional mammography, assist physicians during procedures and uphold radiation safety and patient privacy.

The ideal candidate holds an AMA-approved radiologic technology degree, ARRT RT(R) and Mammographer certification, and Basic Life Support within 30 days of start. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive, patient‑centred work environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a program in radiologic technology approved by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
• Current ARRT RT(R) and Mammographer (M) certification.
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs all diagnostic and screening mammograms per ACR guidelines and departmental protocols.
• Performs stereotactic biopsies.
• Performs bone density studies (DEXA).
• Communicates with the patient the nature of the procedure and answers questions clarifying the procedure for the patient.
