Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital is seeking a Mammographer to obtain high-quality mammograms and adapt to patient morphology. The role requires adherence to radiation safety guidelines and proficient operation of radiographic equipment, including Meditech, with proper verification of physician orders.

You will render patient care professionally, prepare exam rooms, monitor supplies, and participate in quality assurance activities and MQSA-mandated procedures.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification required.
  • Vocational School Graduate.
  • ARRT-M Mammography certification or Mammographic Radiologic Technologist credential.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain quality mammograms adapting to patient morphology.
  • Comply with radiation safety guidelines and operate radiographic equipment safely.
  • Perform computer operations (e.g., Meditech) and verify orders.
  • Provide professional patient care and maintain confidentiality.
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and cleanliness.
  • Assist in quality assurance and document policies as mandated by MQSA.

Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Obtains quality mammograms with the ability to adapt to specific patient morphology.
  • Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely and competently.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e.Meditech). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physicians orders are verified.
  • Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepares examination rooms for mammography procedures. Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation and maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of quality assurance and assists the supervisor in the implementation and documentation of all policies and procedures mandated by the FDA through MQSA.
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e.markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) at workstation. Completes verification process in PACS.
  • Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties such as film and report filing and answering the telephone when appropriate.
  • Completes and maintains educational requirements.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (ARRT-R) Radiography
  • Vocational School Graduate
  • (ARRT-M) Mammography, or Mammographic Radiologic Technologist
  • One Year exp as Staff Mammographer
