Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.

You will operate mammographic equipment, position patients, ensure image quality, and maintain aseptic technique while communicating with patients and applying safety standards.

Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
  • Positions patients and uses immobilization if necessary.
  • Selects proper mode to produce correct exposure factors.
  • Evaluates images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
  • Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate.
  • Explains procedures to patients.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

  • Radiologic Technologist [MA] preferred
  • Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred
  • Mammography [R.T.(M)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
Experience
  • Experience in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agencies' rules and regulations 2-3 years required

  • Needs to be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, understand the differences in female growth and development, and look for signs of normal aging, degree of understanding, and physical limitations related to age.
